Some of the world's finest track and field athletes converge this weekend on Hayward Field for the 2001 GMC Envoy USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 21-24 on the campus of the University of Oregon. The Championships serve as the selection event for Team USA at the 2001 IAAF World Outdoor Championships, August 3-12 in Edmonton, Canada. The top three finishers in each event who have met IAAF qualifying standards will make the U.S. squad for Edmonton.
During the GMC Envoy USA Track & Field Championships, a male and female athlete will be named the Xerox Athlete of the Day during each day of competition. On the final day of competition, Sunday, June 24, the overall Xerox Athletes of the Meet (male and female) will win a Xerox WorkCentre M940. The Xerox WorkCentre M940 includes a color flatbed printer, a copier, scanner and a PC fax. |
